Have you ever sat at the dinner table and asked your children how their day was. My kids always tell me either good or fine and that is the end of the conversation. It is like pulling teeth with them. I am a stickler for eating together, but really how do you get your kids to talk. That is when I read 50+ Questions to ask around the dinner table by Lisa Ruscyk.
This book has 5 questions as a starting point for
conversations. From there you can ask
follow up question to whatever your child answers may be. I put these questions on craft sticks in a
small container on the table. One of my
children may pick a stick and usually the conversations last all during the
meal. They get excited now on what we
will be talking about at dinner.
This book is $7.47. I
honestly do not believe it is worth that much. Although I love the
conversations now at the dinner table, I just can’t see myself recommending
this.
Product Description:
Sometimes we sit at the dinner table and do not know what to say. Our days are long and filled with activities. We enjoy the time with family and friends but how do you get a conversation started at the dinner table? These questions are a way of both connecting and listening with others. Try to not judge others or yourself answering these questions. There is no right or wrong answer. This is a family safe list.
